Most have to be placed within a 1/2 inch of the bar code
for reading. Hand-operated. Only reads labels the size of the front
opening, usually 2-3 inches.
Reads bar codes from a distance of about 1 foot away,
reads bar codes on moving objects and through glass. Useful for reading
bar codes in hard-to-reach spaces.
